| The National Team - Introduction | ||
The team has grown to include some of the top drivers in both Canada and the United States. Currently, the team is anchored by 16 year old Mike Vincec who counts among his credits the titles; 2006 ASN Canadian National ICC Champion, Stars of Karting 2006 Rookie of The Year, 2006 Ekartingnews Rising Star and two championships in the 2006 Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship (ICC, F1-K Senior). He would finish a close second in another SRFKC class (Rotax) and along the way claim the crown as King of The Bay at the series premiere event, the Barrie Grand Prix. Mike has already continued his winning ways to start the 2007 Season. The real focus of the National Team is about driver development. Drivers as young as 8 get an opportunity to learn from those who are about to graduate onto the world stage in formula cars and sports cars. Working in a team environment helps prepare drivers, both the novice and the seasoned pro, for the road ahead in racing and teaches them how to thrive in the big leagues. Former Cameron Motorsports National Team drivers have moved up the racing ladder including 2005 grads Maxime Pelletier who competes in the Formula BMW USA series and 2006 grad Kyle Marcelli who is currently racing across Canada and the US in select Formula Ford events. The most notable graduate of The Cameron Motorsports National Team is Red Bull Junior Team member Robert Wickens. << MORE >> |
